As I said last week, my A Place for . . . books are
perfect for teaching the problem/solution structure. But there are some other
great books out there that you can also use:
Boy, Were We Wrong About Dinosaurs by Kathleen Kudlinski
Boy, Were We Wrong About the Solar System by Kathleen Kudlinski
You can also look at
many picture book biographies. With narrative nonfiction being so popular
today, many picture book biographies are structured in such a way that they
focus in on the person’s greatest challenge and describe how he or she solved
it. That’s just what you want.
It’s also worth
noting that EVERY fiction book is structured in this way. The character’s
conflict is what keeps us all reading. We want to see what happens.

I love the way Kathleen starts with the whole "we thought we knew…" and then takes us on the scientific journey of discovery. these are fun books.
